We’re passionate about helping you sail better, sail safer, and sail farther.
Meet Corah
Corah is a hands-on sailing instructor, passage coach, and vessel-systems mentor based in San Diego. She’s a US Sailing– and ASA-certified instructor, currently working toward her USCG 100-ton Master license, and has sailed across a wide mix of coastal and inland waters including the San Francisco–to–Marina del Rey corridor, the Channel Islands, the Caribbean, and the Great Lakes. She has worked as a first mate aboard 50’-85’ catamarans, and even crewed onboard a 110’ tall ship.
Corah brings a level of practical, lived experience that sets her apart: She owned and lived aboard her own sailboat, handling all maintenance, upgrades, and systems work herself—electrical, plumbing, rigging, and everything in between. That firsthand technical depth is the backbone of her instruction.
She teaches women’s sailing, junior sailing, and works aboard charter boats and private deliveries, giving her a wide range of experience with different boats, personalities, and learning environments.
What Corah specializes in:
Sail handling, reefing, and trim
MOB & safety systems
Passage prep for coastal hops and channel crossings
Confidence-building for new or nervous sailors
Her coaching is known for being calm, methodical, and confidence-focused. She teaches on your boat so you learn in the exact environment where your skills matter most.
If you’re ready to become confident on your boat, Corah is the instructor who gets you there.
Meet Jon
Jon is a sailor, marine-systems specialist, and award-winning filmmaker who brings a technical, detail-driven approach to every boat he works on. With years of experience sailing and maintaining classic blue-water vessels—including his Hans Christian 33T—Jon understands boats from the inside out. He has done extensive refits on three sailboats professionally, and maintenance work himself, giving him a rare depth of knowledge across electrical systems, rigging, plumbing, diesel engines, and overall vessel reliability.
Jon has sailed throughout the Pacific Northwest, the Channel Islands, Mexico, through the Panama Canal, the Caribbean, and the East Coast. He has crewed on multiple vessels in charter, instructional, and delivery settings. His calm presence, engineering mindset, and ability to solve problems mid-passage make him a trusted second-in-command for both owners and captains.
A natural teacher, Jon excels at:
Engine troubleshooting & preventive maintenance
Electrical system diagnostics and upgrades
Rig inspections, upgrades and replacement, and underway fixes
Fuel, water, and plumbing systems
Preparing a boat for a season of voyaging
Supporting owners during training sails and system walk-throughs
Whether he’s troubleshooting an engine, guiding a systems walk-through, or supporting a delivery, Jon’s goal is simple:
Keep the boat safe, keep the crew calm, and make sure everyone learns something valuable along the way.
